Although purists have often insisted that a companion system in “The Witcher” games would be contrary to its lore and source materials, many fans still wanted one in “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” The latest incarnation of this wish comes in the form of the “Witcher 3: Enhanced Mod,” which adds a true companion system to the game.
Officially called the “Multi Companion Mod Enhanced,” this mod is a project by Kingsegg. It builds on the work of another creator named Jamezo97. The features of this “Witcher 3: Enhanced Mod” are quite impressive, as well, starting with the availability of 25 companions. These include main options like Ciri, Yennefer, and Triss, and then extend to the likes of The Bloody Baron and Rosa var Attre.
Basically, if Geralt was accompanied by a character for story purposes at some point, they can likely be used as companions through the “Witcher 3: Enhanced Mod.” It doesn’t stop there, either, as these characters can also be commanded to equip certain tools, ride horses, and be made immortal. Their health bars are even displayed via the players’ HUD and can even engage in banter.
These are features that have become standard in most RPGs of any kind, with “The Witcher” games being one of the biggest exceptions, as Otaku Art reports. Thanks to this “Witcher 3: Enhanced Mod,” however, players can finally have the option to fulfill their greatest desires of fighting alongside their favorite characters.
Unfortunately for console players, such an option is not available to them since this mod is only accessible via the PC version of the game. Perhaps support for a console version of “Witcher 3: Enhanced Mod” can be added in the future, but as of right now, it just is not possible through either the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 variants.
