Snap Inc., the company behind the super popular social media app Snapchat, has been desperate to avoid giving its new “Spectacles” glasses products to elitist techies for fear of the repercussions. Much of the reason being attributed to the failure of the Google Glass was because of obnoxious know-it-alls who lord their knowledge of gadgets and technology over everyone else. Now, these so-called “Glassholes” have been excluded from the marketing scheme, and they are screaming bloody vengeance as a result.
The term “Glassholes” was started by Twitter user Startup L. Jackson back in 2012 to refer to those annoying geeks who are always pushing their irritating rhetoric and have started wearing Google Glass, CNET reports. One of the most notorious of these “Glassholes” is blogger Robert Scoble, and he was the one that Snapchat was most anxious to avoid pertaining to their “Spectacles AR” glasses. Based on Scoble’s picture wearing the glasses while naked in his bathroom, Snapchat failed.
Hahaha...@Scobleizer in the shower with @Snap Spectacles - think I got it out first @Snapchat
