‘Vinland Saga’ episode 10 release date, spoilers: Thorfinn saves Prince Canute, meets Thors's good friend

The events of last week’s installment and the title of “Vinland Saga” episode 10 suggest that Thorfinn is headed to another important task that Askeladd gives him. In the process, Thorfinn is going to meet a good friend of his father Thors.

‘Vinland Saga’ episode 10 spoilers: Thorfinn saves Prince Canute

To recap, Askeladd’s men, along with Thorfinn are deep into the ongoing war waged by Denmark to invade London. Before “Vinland Saga” episode 10, it can be recalled that King Sweyn trusted Prince Canute and Ragnar as second-in-command to attack in London Bridge with 4,000 men. However, they were unsuccessful, and Prince Canute ended up being a hostage to Thorkell’s band and immensely strong men.

While Askeladd’s men are resting in “Vinland Saga” episode 10, a lone soldier of Denmark comes to them to give an update on Prince Canute’s troops. Askeladd decides to kill this soldier, so they can gain leverage to King Sweyn once they save Prince Canute.

As usual, Askeladd does not make the first attack in “Vinland Saga” episode 10. He will be lucky that some forces of Denmark stage an ambush against Thorkell’s men. Once it goes awry, Askeladd sets a massive forest fire blinding the Thorkell’s warriors.

This is Thorfinn’s time to save Prince Canute, Ragnar, and the friar following Askeladd’s orders. However, the more interesting part in this sequence is the brief encounter between Thorfinn and Thorkell in “Vinland Saga” episode 10. The latter is not pressed on retrieving Prince Canute, but he wants to talk to Thorfinn. Thorkell reveals that he knows Thorfinn’s mother is Helga and that he fought with Thors before.

Another highlight of “Vinland Saga” episode 10 is the appearance of Thors. He will visit Thorfinn in his dream that may have a deeper meaning. Thorfinn dreams again of a peaceful time when he was younger and with Thors, Helga, and his sister.

In the dream, Thors tells Thorfinn to stop his lifelong plan of vengeance and that it is not something that would make him proud. Once Thorfinn wakes up, he is puzzled because the place in his dream is not Iceland. “Vinland Saga” episode 10 will be released on Sunday, Sept. 8
