‘Vikings’ Season 6 Air Date, Spoilers: Final Season Confirmed, Freydis Not Dead?

Vikings.IGN/YouTube

As with all things, “Vikings” is finally coming to an end despite years of exciting contents. The show is about to cap off its sixth and final season, with production hitting its stride soon. There will also be some shocking turns of events in “Vikings” Season 6, including dead characters coming back to life. Then again, it isn’t as if this was anything new.

As Digital Spy reports, Freydis (Alicia Agneson) was killed in the finale of the last season and the one to murder her is none other than Ivar the Boneless (Alex Høgh Andersen) himself. He did so after he learned of his wife’s betrayal. Afterward, one would think that the character would be content to stay dead, but this supposedly will not be the case in “Vikings” Season 6.

The actress herself confirmed that she is already filming scenes for “Vikings” Season 6. Now, there are several possibilities with regards to this particular topic, one of which is that she is returning as a ghost. It has happened before and fans certainly had no problems accepting that particular development.

As for what fans can expect from “Vikings” Season 6, there will be the usual fare of battles, blood, and betrayal. It will likely also feature more of the characters fighting over power and sad struggles for survival. All of this all be shown throughout 20 episodes that will be split into two parts, just as the fifth season had done.

Considering the fact that “Vikings” Season 6 will also see the characters on the Silk Road, this is not going to be an easy season for them. The road crosses through harsh terrain and deserts, after all. Not exactly the kind of conditions that northern warriors are used to. Still, this will add another layer of intrigue to the show that will premiere in late 2019.
