The ribbon cutting for the office was held Thursday, Jan. 28. It was hosted by Vectrus CEO Ken Hunzeker and attended by Vectrus Chief Financial Officer Matt Klein, Vice President for IT & Network Communication Services, Chico Moline, and a number of local employees.
“We are seeing opportunities to expand our IT & Network Communication market share,” said Hunzeker. “After hiring Chico Moline to lead the effort, opening the Reston facility is the next step in our strategy.”
“Over the course of the next two-to-three years, we plan to invest in our IT & Network Communication service offering because we see the potential for strong returns,” said Klein.
“Vectrus is now in a position to reinvest and achieve additional growth through market and capability expansion, which is something we were not able to do before becoming a public company in 2014,” said Hunzeker. “More specifically, Vectrus can now leverage existing past performance, customer relationships, global footprint, and a solid financial position to pursue opportunities in the IT market.”
Vectrus has a long history in IT & Network Communication Services that dates back to the Distant Early Warning Line efforts above the Arctic Circle in the 1950’s. Today, Vectrus provides communications systems sustainment, network security, systems installation and full life cycle management of IT systems for the Department of Defense in various locations across the globe. Expanding the IT & Network footprint aligns with the Vectrus long-term strategy of enhancing the foundation, balancing the portfolio, and providing more value to customers and shareholders.
“Vectrus is not new to this market, nor are we new to these growth opportunities,” said Moline. “We have been aware of, and focused on them for a while, but now as Vectrus, we have the flexibility and the resources to aggressively pursue them.”
The Vectrus team working in this office will include additional business development, and operations employees to accommodate the anticipated new work. Individuals interested in more information can visit the Vectrus careers website at www.vectrus.com/careers.
The new facility is located at 11730 Plaza America Drive in Reston, and replaces a smaller office that has been in use in the Reston area since the spinoff.
