USD review

America's better jobs report Friday left dollar bulls wanting more. U.S. job growth rebounded solidly in April with a gain of 223,000. Still, the economy's lackluster performance so far over the first half of the year keeps expectations low for the Fed to boost rates anytime soon.

America's all important consumer should help shape how the dollar fares this week with retail sales due Wednesday followed by consumer sentiment on Friday.

Good news on a group that serves as the economy's main growth engine would help the dollar push a little higher and further away from recent lows.
