USD review

Western Union:

Initial signs of the U.S. economy emerging from its sluggish start to the year have helped the U.S. dollar get back on a strengthening path against its rivals.

The big positives for the dollar this week came from Fed minutes that showed the central bank readying for a rate hike and jobless claims, which depicted the labor market in better shape than the last look at monthly hiring suggested.

Markets next week will look for dollar catalysts in retail sales on Tuesday, midweek regional manufacturing surveys, and inflation on Friday.
