US presidential election series: Donald Trump closes in with three consecutive wins

Many a Republican liberals' nightmares are closing in to become true, as Donald Trump, known for his harsh comments and controversies secured a massive win in Nevada, his third consecutive so far. So far elections have taken place in four states, Nevada, Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. Mr. Trump has only marginally lost in Iowa to runner Ted Cruz. After coming fourth pretty distant in first three election, presidential favorite Jeb Bush abandoned the race.

Republican Camp is well divided over Donald Trump. While some strongly disapproves his arrogant, rude image, others point out he in many years has brought momentum to Republican camp.

Mr. Trump has become well known for controversies surrounding his ideas, such as -

  • To build a wall along Mexican border to prevent illegal migrants.
  • He has taken up to the Pope Francis, for latters comments that Mr. Trump may not be a true Christian, since he wants to build walls not Bridges by saying that when Islamic State militants attack Vatican, Pope would wish, Mr. Trump was president of US.
  • His biggest controversy had been regarding Muslims as he wants to prevent people from that race from entering US. Over a million people in Britain has signed to ban him from entering UK.

Market usually plays low to very long US Presidential race, until the very last. However this time may be different as populist anger is fuelling the rise of candidate like Mr. Trump.

Next to watch will be Super Tuesday - 12 States will be voting and that is on March 1st.
