During the primaries, many foreign leaders have been criticizing Mr. Trump over his proposals which they considered as outrageous but now with November Election closing in those very leaders have not only gone silent over Trump, many are making amends with the possibility of a Trump win at the White House. When it all began in 2015, most of the political pundits and analysts viewed Trump as an outsider and considered him not to last long. Just like them, these foreign leaders thought that attacking Trump could derail his supports but that only to their vain.
One among them has been Enrique Peña Nieto, the President of Mexico, who previously likened Mr. Trump’s rise to that of Adolf Hitler in Germany or Benito Mussolini in Italy. The Mexican government, faced with the possibility of a Trump presidency has issued invitations to both Mr. Trump and Hillary Clinton. While the Clinton camp hasn’t announced any comments with regard to the invitations, Mr. Trump tweeted that he has accepted the invitation and will be travelling to Mexico City today to meet him.
Mr. Trump has floated the idea of deportation of illegal immigrants from Mexico that could run into millions and build a wall along the border with Mexico and has suggested that Mexico would be paying for it.
