US "Bitcoin Superpower" Plan: Trump Admin's Bold Crypto Strategy

With the leadership of White House crypto advisor Bo Hines, the Trump administration is crafting a plan to make the U.S. a world leader in Bitcoin accumulation and regulation through a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR). The effort seeks to make Bitcoin a long-term national asset, calling it "digital gold," through budget-neutral acquisition techniques, including tariff revenues and public-private partnerships. Hines compared this program to a "space race" in today's times, underscoring the need to beat other countries in Bitcoin accumulation, with its finite supply of 21 million.

The government is reviewing current U.S. Bitcoin reserves and collaborating with the Treasury Department to establish scalable purchase frameworks. The policy agenda entails rolling back anti-crypto policies, holding the first White House Crypto Summit, and passing s 2tablecoin and market structure bills by August 2025 on a bipartisan basis. The strategy also involves implementing a 180-day interagency plan to put into action the new regulatory framework after the bill passes.

The U.S. currently dominates 35-40% of all mined Bitcoin, more than six times its 8-10% share of world gold reserves. The initiative marks a policy pivot from hostile to friendly stance, to capitalize on Bitcoin scarcity to strengthen American financial leadership
