Turkish sectoral confidence indices rise in August

Turkish services sector confidence index rose in August. On a sequential basis, the confidence index for service sector rose 6.7 to 89.1. Business situation in the services sector rose 7.7 percent to 85.3, whereas the demand-turnover and demand-turnover expectations indices rose 8.7 percent and 4.3 percent to 84.6 and 97.5, respectively.

Retail trade sentiment index rose 5.1 percent to 95 in August. Within retail trade sector, business activity-sales and business activity-sales expectation indices rose 7.2 percent and 10 percent respectively to 85.5 and 94.9. Nevertheless, current volume of stock index dropped 0.5 percent to 104.8.

The construction sector’s confidence index rose 6 percent to 55.5 in August. Within the construction sector, current overall order books and total employment expectation indices rose 7.5 percent and 5.1 percent, respectively to 41.6 and 69.4.
