Turkish economic sentiment index rises strongly in October

Turkish economic sentiment rose in the month of October. The Turkish Statistical Institute showed in a report that the economic confidence index rose 4.5 percent in the month to 89.8 from September’s 86. The rise was driven by increases seen in almost all sub-indices.

The consumer confidence index rose 2.1 percent to 57 in October from September’s 55.8, whereas the sentiment index of real sector was up 4.5 percent to 104.2 from 99.7.

The services confidence index rose 1.6 percent to 90.7 from September’s 89.3, while the retail trade sentiment index rose 4.8 percent to 102.3 from 97.6.

The construction sentiment index rose the highest by 8.3 percent to 65.1 in October from September’s print of 60.1.
