Turkish consumer sentiment eases in December

Turkish consumer sentiment eased in the month of December. The Turkish Statistical Institute showed that the seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index dropped 1.9 percent to 58.8 in December from November’s 59.9.

The financial situation expectation of household index in the next 12 months period fell 2.1 percent to 77.7 in December from November’s 79.3. Meanwhile, the general economic situation expectation index dropped 2.5 percent to 76.5 in December from November’s 79.3.

Meanwhile, the number of unemployed expectation index dropped 2.9 percent to 57.1 in December from November’s 58.8. On the other hand, the probability of saving index rose 3.5 percent to 23.8 in December from November’s 23.
