Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes divorced in 2012 and the latter was granted full custody of their daughter, Suri. Although they have parted ways somehow amicably, the “Mission Impossible” star has not seen his daughter since the separation. It was reported that the actor can now regularly visit his child following a new custody agreement.
This report came out a few months after it was reported that Suri has been contacting her dad in secret. This was followed by the news that Tom Cruise is planning to meet up with his daughter.
According to Hollywood Life, the 56-year-old actor asked his legal team to find a way so he can meet Suri again after five long years.
An insider allegedly told the magazine, “He’s had to watch from afar as Suri grew into a lovely young lady, and he regrets that he’s missed out on so much. He’s dying to be a part of her life!”
It was said that when Suri celebrated her 12th birthday in April, that was the time he realized he wants to be part of her life again.
“That really tugged at Tom’s heartstrings,” the insider added. “It hit him that he hasn’t been there to watch Suri blow out the candles for five years. That’s when he started rounding up his lawyers to find a way to see her again.”
Now, National Enquirer (via Gossip Cop) is reporting that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are working out a custody agreement in order to arrange a visit schedule. It was alleged that they agreed to meet for the first time in years to talk about Tom and Suri’s reunion.
It further stated that Katie Holmes is now allowing Tom Cruise to reconnect with their 12-year-old daughter. However, to finally make it happen, the actor must show respect during the one-on-one dialogue with Katie. He should also accept the fact that she is dating Jamie Foxx, his former friend.
Gossip Cop said this story is not true. It pointed out that this news is actually old already and months after, it is clear that no arrangement or custody settlement between Katie and Tom ever took place. This means that the latter is still estranged from Suri.
There has been no change in the young girl’s custody and her mother still has primary custody. No visitation schedule with Tom was set up so she has not seen her dad for a long time now.
