STUDIO CITY, Calif., Aug. 16, 2017 -- Tix Corporation (the “Company” or “Tix”) (OTCQX:TIXC), a leading provider of discount ticketing services, today is providing an update on its recent initiatives.
Over the past year or so, the Company has been working on various new growth initiatives to counter the recent increase in online competition and the upcoming anticipated impact of MGM Resorts International opening booths on its properties and limiting our ability to sell certain Cirque du Soleil shows at our Tix4Tonight booths. The Company is also implementing significant expense reductions, including voluntary executive salary reductions, in anticipation of the impact from the events noted above.
The Company believes its current strategy of selling new products, such as our Vegas Dining Pass and Vegas Shopping Pass, the upcoming launch of our first ever online and mobile platform and our first ever digital tourist magazine, should significantly expand our customer reach and provide our customers the convenience of purchasing our products prior to their arrival or during their stay in Las Vegas. As always, our best prices will continue to be found at our discount ticket booths in Las Vegas. More information on each of our new initiatives follows.
Vegas Dining Pass – The Company began selling the Vegas Dining Pass late last month. This new product provides our customers access to great discounts at numerous participating restaurants in Las Vegas that can be used during their entire stay in Las Vegas. The customer can access our mobile website specific to this product to review the participating restaurant offers and query restaurants by name, cuisine or location. The savings potential is substantial with deals up to 50% off so our customers may more than cover their purchase price through savings on first use of the Vegas Dining Pass with increasing savings the more it is used.
Vegas Shopping Pass – The Company anticipates launching this new product later this month. The Vegas Shopping Pass will provide our customers access to over 100 participating national and local retailers in Las Vegas during their stay in Las Vegas. The customer can access our mobile website specific to this offer and search the participating offers and query retailers by name, type or location. The savings potential is substantial and the customer may more than cover the purchase price through savings they receive on their first purchase utilizing the Vegas Shopping Pass.
Full Service Online and Mobile Website – The Company anticipates launching our online and mobile platform later this quarter that will provide our customers, for the first time in our history, the ability to purchase our entire inventory of shows, events, activities and passes prior to their arrival or during their stay in Las Vegas. We anticipate that the online and mobile website will also include Cirque du Soleil shows. In connection with this launch, the Company will be initiating new advertising/marketing campaigns that are both in-market and online including social media to inform visitors that we have the lowest prices both online and at our booths.
Vegas Local Expert Guide – The Company anticipates publishing its first ever digital tourist magazine titled Vegas Local Expert Guide (the “Guide”) later this year. The Guide will initially be marketed by Expedia Local Expert to its customers shortly before their scheduled trip to Las Vegas. The Guide will provide the reader interactive information on all our offerings including short videos, customer reviews, and the ability to immediately transact a purchase.
