“The Winds of Winter” is a long-delayed novel and its author, George RR Martin, felt bad about it. He knows that the fans are extra worried now since he recently expressed his struggle to finish the sixth book in his “A Song of Ice and Fire” novel series. In an effort to take away the worries of his fans, the 70-year-old book writer released a new statement that assures everyone that he will finish “TWOW.”
On Dec. 10, George RR Martin updated his blog with a message of “Thanks” to his supporters. In his post titled, “Two Weeks To Remember,” he shared what he had been up to lately and took the opportunity to thank all his fans and some people who helped him with his recently released book “Fire & Blood.”
“The Winds of the Winter” author also relayed that his new book about the history of the Targaryen has been well-received around the world and he is very happy and thankful for this overwhelming outcome. George RR Martin mentioned that “Fire & Blood” debuted no. 1 on New York Times bestseller and the Times in the U.K. He added he also learned that the book is also no. 1 in Brazil, no. 2 in Spain, no. 5 in Germany and lastly, no. 8 in France.
Amid the big success of “Fire & Blood,” George RR Martin has not forgotten “The Winds of Winter” and informed fans that he will surely finish it and they just have to wait a bit longer. He said that the much-awaited novel is not coming out tomorrow or next week but everyone will see the end of “A Song of Ice and Fire.”
“My thanks go out to my fans and readers. I know you want WINDS, and I am going to give it to you,” he wrote. “I am delighted that you stayed with me for this one as well. Your patience and unflagging support mean the world to me.”
Meanwhile, in his previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, George RR Martin admitted that he is mad at himself for not being able to finish “The Winds of Winter” on time. The author stated that he knows the fans are already angry at him but he said that he feels the same way at himself and wished the book was published already.
