A lot of fans believe that “The Walking Dead” Season 10 would not be coming after the ninth season saw disappointing numbers. However, it would appear that those people are wrong. The show has been renewed and more zombie drama will be coming to the small screen. Unfortunately, there is a chance that Danai Gurira might not be in it, which means that the tenth season could premiere without Michonne.
At this point, it’s difficult to say whether or not fans are actually looking forward to “The Walking Dead” Season 10 since practically all of the original characters have left the show. If the report by Collider actually comes true, it could mean the end for the series as a whole. Basically, Danai Gurira has yet to sign her contract, as of writing. This means that the show could proceed without the sword master.
This spells bad news for the series that has already lost Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Maggie (Laura Cohen). If Gurira doesn’t return, the only original members remaining would be Norman Reedus (Daryl) and Melissa McBride (Carol). They might be enough to carry “The Walking Dead” Season 10, but this could spell a pitiful end to what was once a colossal series.
On that note, nothing is final. The deal between the actress and the network could be concluded in a few days. If that happens, Michonne will stick around for yet another season. There have also been hints that Maggie will indeed be returning in “The Walking Dead” Season 10, which should help liven things up a bit. If she doesn’t, the show will have trouble kicking those viewer numbers up unless they do something drastic.
As for when “The Walking Dead” Season 10 will premiere, late 2020 would be a good bet. If production starts in the first half of this year, there will be enough time for editing and marketing. As such, it could air between October and November.
