‘The Promised Neverland’ chapter 169: Emma, Ray and Norman’s ultimate plan involves Peter Ratri

After Peter Ratri’s capture by Oliver, the game of cat and mouse between the two groups finally ended in the recent chapter. This would mean that Emma, Ray, and Norman will proceed with whatever it is they are planning.

While Emma, Ray, and Norman have been planning ahead to capture Peter Ratri, the latter has been planning his own schemes as well. In the recently released “The Promised Neverland” chapter 168, it turns out the head of the Ratri clan has a few tricks up his sleeves as well.

Emma, Ray, and Norman rushed to where Peter is located But as the barged through the door, they were in for a big surprise.

There was no Peter Ratri in the room they believed to be his location. And then they heard a voice that shocked them. “Hey there, Norman,” Peter said through the facility’s communication system. “It’s been a while. You did pretty well.”

Peter congratulated Norman for destroying Lambda, the Imperial rule, the queen, the five regent houses and for infiltrating Grace Field. “Pretty impressive for a child raised to be food,” Peter commented.

Peter then rubbed in the fact that he finally outwitted them. Apparently, what they saw as Peter was just fake footage and that he was elsewhere.

The problem was that Peter had Vincent, Nigel and the other members of the support team as hostages with guns pointed at their heads. What’s worse is that he is going to reboot the facility’s system and that every lock will be under their control, which means none of the hostages will be safe anymore. Sonju and Mujika were already captured in the capital and will soon be executed as well.

But as the system booted up, Peter’s tech guy ran into some issues. Apparently, it is now protected by a triple password lock. Peter threatened Vincent but he wouldn’t budge and even encouraged Nigel not to divulge the password as well and an angry Peter shot Vincent.

Peter Ratri then ranted claiming that he is their dad as he is their creator. He then instructed his men to kill the hostages but he was surprised when his instruction was not carried out. It turned out that his men are already dead.

“Dad? You can’t be serious,” Oliver said as he pointed his gun at Peter’s head. “You’re not our father.”

Having taken Peter Ratri as a hostage, Oliver will be able to signal Emma, Ray, and Norman his current location and they would regroup to discuss what to do next in “The Promised Neverland” chapter 169. While the group’s ultimate plan is yet unclear, it is evident that it involves Peter Ratri, who is already in their possession.

One character that was not seen in the recent chapter is Isabella. There’s a good chance that fans will be seeing her in the upcoming manga installment as well.
