The fast confirmation that “The Promised Neverland” season 2 is going to happen is the biggest proof that the new anime series has quickly gained a large number of fans in and out of Japan. Many are now probably asking when the new episodes are going to arrive.
The season finale aired in late March and it was immediately followed by the announcement that “The Promised Neverland” season 2 will be released in 2020. Since the first series installment has just concluded, fans are unlikely to hear any news about the specific release dates for the next several months.
It is also still unknown if “The Promised Neverland” season 2 would have more episodes that season 1 that only had a one-cour run or a total of 12 episodes. One thing is certain — there are enough materials for the anime series to launch a longer season 2 in 2020.
It can be recalled that the first season was announced in the spring of 2018 through Issue #26 of Shonen Jump. By the end of the same year, it was confirmed that season 1 will premiere on Jan. 10. It was roughly an eight-month gap, but that could not be the same timeframe for the production of “The Promised Neverland” season 2 since it is already set for 2020. The best case fans could hope for the next installment is for it to have more episodes and for it to be released within the first half of next year.
