“The Last Kingdom” season 3 has new cast members to add spice to the plot’s twists and turns. Aside from this, the series will also have a new home when it finally premieres.
According to Radio Times, “The Last Kingdom” season 3 will not air on BBC Two anymore. The series’s first two seasons were released on the said broadcasting network, and now it will be on Netflix for a worldwide telecast.
Plot
“The Last Kingdom” season 3 will be about King Alfred’s dream of uniting all the kingdoms in England and putting an end to the ruthless attacks by the Danish people.
The king will ask Uhtred for help since he knows that he is the only one he can rely on to stop the Danish. However, the warrior is conflicted when the king approaches him because their relationship is not as good as before. While contemplating if he will agree to help King Alfred or not, he asks himself why he should do it. Perhaps he realizes he could have his own ulterior motives.
Moreover, as per Express, Uhtred will discover that his loyalty to King Alfred is not as strong anymore. In fact, his allegiance is already at its breaking point in “The Last Kingdom” season 3, so whatever his decision will be could change the fate of the king and the kingdoms.

“The Last Kingdom” season 3 is based on Bernard Cornwell’s fifth book, “The Burning Land,” in "The Saxon Stories" and its cast members are David Dawson (King Alfred), Alexander Doetsch (Uhtred), Eliza Butterworth (Aelswith), Emily Cox (Brida), Toby Regbo (Aethelred) and Millie Brady (Aethelflaed, daughter of King Alfred). The period drama will also welcome a number of new faces like Thea Sofie Loch Naess (Skade ), Timothy Innes (Edward), Tygo Gernandt (Jackdaw) and Magnus Bruun (Cnut).
Air Date and Episodes
“The Last Kingdom” season 3 will offer 10 episodes and fans can watch the whole season all at once. It will drop on Netflix (U.S. and U.K.) on Nov. 19 while the rest of the world will have it at a slightly later date.
