The fall season has been an exciting one, especially to those who have been waiting for the day that “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 gets announced. Their wishes finally came true last October; however, there other confirmed details that might not put a damper on their celebrations.
The story arc to be covered in “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 was already reported. Only one arc will be animated in the series return implying that the episode count will be significantly downgraded.
‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2: Why producers decided to have fewer episodes
“The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 will be all about the Visitor Arc, and its entire story wrapped up in only three light novel volumes. That is five volumes less than what was covered in season 1 that had 26 episodes. The official episode count has yet to be announced, but it would not be surprising if it would come down to 12 or 13 installments only.
It is unknown why “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 was decided only to cover a single story arc and have a much shorter run. However, producers would likely want to see if the anime series could still gather the same support it did when it first came out more than five years ago.
If “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 sees enough success in local TV viewership, Blu-ray/DVD sales, and international support through streaming channels, having a third season is very likely. The good news is the light novel series has enough materials to allow the anime adaptation to continuing beyond season 2.
‘The Irregular at Magic High School’ season 2 release date, spoilers
Using Visitor Arc as the source material for “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 allows the producers to introduce Angelina properly in the canon anime series. It can be recalled that the character first appeared in animated form through the 2017 movie “The Girl Who Calls the Stars” that was based on an original story separate from the original light novel series.
New episodes are confirmed to arrive in 2020. However, a specific release date for “The Irregular at Magic High School” season 2 has not been announced yet.
