It appears that Team Flash is going to have their hands full as they deal with Cicada (Chris Klein) this season. Titled "Blocked," “The Flash” Season 5 Episode 2 opens with a different look of the fight between Cicada and Gridlock (Daniel Cudmore) in the premiere episode, and it shows that the mysterious villain’s lightning bolt-shaped dagger has the ability to drain the powers of metas.
Surprisingly, Cicada actually has a job as a janitor and he goes back to work right after murdering Gridlock. He may not be a speedster, but a lot of people can agree that he’s probably one of the most interesting villains introduced in the series.
After the introduction, the story shifts to Team Flash with Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy) finally deciding to come clean and tell everyone the secret she has been keeping since she arrived in the present. Apparently, Barry/The Flash (Grant Gustin) never came back after he vanished in 2024. That explains why Nora is trying to spend as much time with Barry since her arrival. And to her credit, Iris (Candice Patton) didn’t freak when she heard what Nora has to say.
“The Flash” Season 5 Episode 2 really has a lot of scenes involving Barry and Nora. The two bonded as Nora tagged along as Barry investigated a crime scene, and he even gave her some pointers on how to become a better speedster.
Meanwhile, Iris decided to do some investigating as Captain Singh (Patrick Sabongui) admits that Gridlock was attacked while he was on his way to prison. Iris will get her hands on the video footage of the attack, and while watching with the rest of the team, Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) notes that it sounds like the guy who attacked them. Nora reaction also hints that she knows about Cicada, but “The Flash” Season 5 Episode 2 ends before she can talk about the mysterious villain.
