‘The Exorcist’ season 1’s episode 10, entitled “Chapter Ten: Three Rooms,” is set to follow Angela’s possession as the demon threatens the destruction of the entire Rance family. Meanwhile, creator Jeremy Slater teased that the incoming episode is one of the “craziest” they have ever done.
The synopsis for “Chapter Ten: Three Rooms” posted on TV Guide reads, “In the Season 1 finale, the demon tries to destroy Angela Rance (Geena Davis) and her family and Marcus (Ben Daniels) and Tomas (Alfonso Herrera) try to save them while the church's enemies organize against Pope Sebastian.”
The incoming episode’s promo teased Angela’s continuing torment as she is once again taken over by evil from the past. Father Tomas is then seen doing all in his power to exorcise the demon from Angela.
Episode 9 left off with the demon that possessed Casey (Hannah Kasulka) transferring to Angela in a shocking turn of events. Angela then tried to kill her own daughter if not for Father Tomas’ intervention, according to iTech Post. While the demon will threaten to tear Angela’s family apart, it would be up to Father Tomas and Father Marcus to save the day.
According to i09.com, creator Jeremy Slater talked addressed initial doubts for the series saying, “I think a lot of horror fans were rightfully skeptical when it was announced that The Exorcist was going to become a network TV show. If I wasn’t involved in the show, I’m sure that would have been one of them. We’ve really had to go out there and prove that we’re our own thing—we’re not just a quickie cash grab trying to [take advantage of] someone else’s successful property, we actually have a story worth telling. The gratifying thing is that people have given us a chance.”
He continued, “There’s definitely an advantage to having characters that the audience already has a strong attachment to, like Regan and Chris MacNeill. From a writing standpoint, it’s probably helped us, having such large shoes to fill. It’s forced us to be hard on ourselves, pushing each other to be as creative and daring as the original movie was. You’re always very aware of the weight that’s hanging over your head when you take on a franchise that’s so critically respected.”
Slater also teased the incoming episode saying, “If you’re a fan of the show, there’s a lot of big, satisfying character stuff coming up. But if you’re just a fan of exciting television, these are by far the craziest episodes we’ve done out of the entire run.”
‘The Exorcist’ season 1’s episode 10, entitled “Chapter Ten: Three Rooms,” is scheduled to air on Fox on December 16, 2016.
