“The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 viewers are getting the 12th episode in the coming week and, at this point, the show is usually well into the season. However, there is a report that the sixth season is slated to be the longest installment in the show’s history.
The reality show centered on discovering hidden treasures and artifacts within the Oak Island in Nova Scotia has seen a steady increase of episode count per season through the years. But it appears that “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 is going to be its biggest installment ever.
When searching for future episodes of a show, most TV listing websites only reveal one or two of the upcoming installments to avoid too many spoilers. However, in the case of “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6, it was previously reported (via The Futon Critic) that History is slated to air 30 hours worth of content.
Every episode of “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 is an hour-long installment. The said report mentioned that History ordered for a “massive 30-hour season six order.” This led to the assumption that there could be up to 30 episodes this season.
To say that “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6 is a “massive” installment is accurate. When the show first aired in 2014, it only had a total of five episodes. That was doubled in its second season run and has also increased to 13 episodes in season 3.
History ordered the fourth season and increased the episode count to 16. Season 5 continued the show’s expansion by adding two more episodes. So if the 30-hour content translates to 30 episodes in “The Curse of Oak Island” season 6, that is almost double of what viewers saw last year.
