“The Crown” season 3 is one of the most anticipated drama series today. The series tells about the life of Queen Elizabeth, so curiosity might have played a big role why many people love to watch it. Now, it returns for another season of intriguing stories.

“The Crown” season 3 will continue to explore the fascinating life of the royals. Moreover, the new chapters will present more exciting episodes as the show touches on the next stage of their lives.

Netflix released the second season of the show in December last year and it has already gained a solid following, and fans cannot wait for the new season to air. Everyone can expect to see the younger generation of the royals when the new installment premieres.

Air Date

Various news outlets reported that “The Crown” season 4 has been scheduled to air in 2019, with no definite date yet. As of the moment, the cast lineup is not yet complete, and although this is the case, filming will push through this July.

In fact, as mentioned on The Independent, some characters of the Netflix original have already started shooting their scenes. In its latest report, it showed the new lead, Olivia Colman, while on the set as Queen Elizabeth. She replaces Claire Foy, who was the series’ previous lead actor.

Setting and Period

“The Crown” season 3 is said to begin the story of the Royals in the year 1964. The story will then progress until 1976, a time when the younger members of the family will make their appearance.

Season 3 Cast

Aside from Olivia Colman, Helena Bonham Carter is also confirmed to star in “The Crown” season 3 as Princess Margaret. She replaces Vanessa Kirby, who played the character in the first two seasons.

“I’m not sure which I’m more terrified about -- doing justice to the real Princess Margaret or following in the shoes of Vanessa Kirby’s Princess Margaret,” Bonham Carter told BBC. “The only thing I can guarantee is that I’ll be shorter than Vanessa.”

Tobias Menzies will play Prince Philip, a character previously played by Matt Smith. Just like the new cast members, he will be on the show for two seasons.

Finally, Princess Diana will finally make her appearance in “The Crown” season 4. Many viewers want to know when she will be featured, and it was relayed that starting in this season until the next, she will play a big part in the plot.
