‘The Catch’ season 2’s episode 7, titled “The Birthday Party,” is set to follow Alice as she is surprised to find that her ex-fiance has returned. Meanwhile, Ben and Margot will be forced to set their differences aside and work together for the sake of their teenage daughter’s birthday celebration.
The synopsis for “The Birthday Party” posted on TV Guide reads, “Alice (Mireille Enos) is caught off guard when someone from her past resurfaces and is in need of her help. Meanwhile, Ben (Peter Krause) and Margot (Sonya Walger) are forced to work together to keep a sweet-16 party from getting out of hand.”
The promo reveals that Alice’s ex-fiance will meet Ben head on in the upcoming episode. The promo begins with Ben opening the door to find Alice and a man standing outside. He then invites them in for a drink to which Alice says she definitely needs one.
While inside, Alice’s ex makes small talk by asking about Alice and Ben’s relationship. Alice clearly looks anxious and is throwing out inconsistent answers. When the ex asks if they are living together, Ben casually answers yes while Alice blurts out no.
In the next scene, the ex asks Alice if Ben will be alright with the two of them working together again. Alice replies, “He doesn’t have a say in the matter.”
By the final scenes, Alice and the ex are shown going out to a party and there is apparent chemistry between them. When Ben calls Alice to ask her how her day went, she replies, “Pretty great.” It would be interesting to see if Alice’s former lover will manage to come between Alice and Ben in the next few episodes.
Meanwhile, Ben will also have his hands full when he is forced to work alongside Margot to throw their killer daughter a birthday party for her sweet 16th. According to International Business Times, this arrangement will pose a challenge for the two since they are not on amicable terms.
‘The Catch’ season 2’s episode 7, titled “The Birthday Party,” is scheduled to be released on ABC on April 20, 2017. It was directed by John Stuart Scott and written by Lyndsey Beaulieu. It will be followed by episode 8, titled "The Knock-Off," scheduled to be released on April 27 and directed by Morgan Pollitt.
