NBC's crime thriller starring James Spader dropped the biggest plot twist in the season 5 finale, which left fans speculating about the true identity of his character, Red Reddington. While the wait for “The Blacklist” season 6 has been longer than the time in between the previous seasons, it seems fans can now rest easy because the broadcast schedule for the upcoming installment has finally been released.
TVGuide recently released the fall schedules for NBC's shows. While “The Blacklist” season 6 was unfortunately not on the list, the article mentions that fans can get ready for the show to return in January 2019. TVGuide also mentions that “The Blacklist” season 6 will be moving to a Friday broadcast schedule when it returns next year.
Thankfully, the delayed broadcast schedule is the only thing that fans have to worry about as “The Blacklist” season 6 will still feature a full 22-episode season. This will be the first time that the series will be starting in a different month compared to the first five seasons, which all premiered in September and ended in May of their respective years.
Of course, it is not just the answer to Red's identity that fans can be excited about for “The Blacklist” season 6. According to the show's executive producer, Jon Bokenkamp, Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) will be playing her cards close to her chest in the upcoming installment, considering that she now has information that Red does not know about.
This is the first time in the series that Liz is ahead of the cunning Red Reddington and it will be exciting to see how the two will finally face off in “The Blacklist” season 6. Fans looking forward to answers about Red Reddington's true identity and how Liz will hopefully find a way to get back at the man who claimed to be her father can hopefully catch “The Blacklist” season 6 when it broadcasts in early 2019.
