‘The Blacklist’ Season 4, Episode 16 Spoilers: “Dembe Zuma” - Red Continues Hunt for Dembe as Aram Goes Missing

James Spader plays Red on NBC's 'The Blacklist'

‘The Blacklist’ season 4’s episode 16, titled “Dembe Zuma,” will follow Red as he continues his hunt for Dembe together with the task force. It seems that they will finally get closer to finding him after they get a lead following Aram’s disappearance.

The synopsis for “Dembe Zuma” posted on TV Guide reads, “The task force at last gets a lead on Dembe's (Hisham Tawfiq) whereabouts when Aram (Amir Arison) goes missing. Meanwhile, Dembe takes a risk as Red (James Spader) closes in.”

The upcoming episode will follow Red and the rest of the Task Force as they finally get a lead on Dembe’s whereabouts after weeks of attempting to hunt him down when Aram disappears. Dembe, on the other hand, will do a calculated yet deliberate risk as Red draws nearer.

The promotional photographs of episode 16 posted on TV Fanatic shows Dembe holding Aram hostage. Dembe looks confident enough despite going rogue and he doesn’t seem too concerned about not working with Red anymore.

In one photograph, Aram looks to be assisting Dembe with a code for a security lock. It is unclear whether Aram is genuinely helping Dembe or if he is doing so at gunpoint. Another photograph shows Aram inside the trunk of a car while Dembe stands over him.

According to Cartermatt, the upcoming episode will heavily focus on the conflict between Red and the traitorous Dembe. It would be interesting to see if Red manages to catch up on him, with the two possible engaging in a final standoff.

It seems that Red is not taking the betrayal lightly nor is he underestimating his former ally’s abilities. In the promo, he says, “Few can truly comprehend the fierce tenacity of a man like Dembe Zuma. I taught Dembe everything I knew and now he has completely eluded detection.”

‘The Blacklist’ season 4’s episode 16, titled “Dembe Zuma,” is scheduled to air on NBC on April 20, 2017. It was directed by Jean de Segonzac and written by Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier. It will be followed by episode 17, titled "Requiem," scheduled to be released right after in the two-hour event.
