'The Bachelorette' News, Updates: Episode 9's Horrible Thailand Date Was Horrible for the Wrong Person

In the three-way battle for Becca Kufrin's heart, Jason Tartick, Garrett Yrigoyen, and Blake Hortsmann are getting closer and closer to the final rose. The much-teased Thailand holiday episode of "The Bachelorette" may have misdirected which specific suitor was going to crash and burn.

In a teaser tweeted by the official “The Bachelorette” Twitter page, Garrett Yrigoyen was featured as having problems telling Kufrin that he loves her due to his history of divorce. The teaser set up Yrigoyen for failure in fans' eyes.

In the actual proceedings of the episode, Hortsmann takes Kufrin to see monks in a temple, ends up making out with Kufrin, and gets invited into the Fantasy Suite at the end of the day.

Tartick's date takes the bachelorette to the Thai public market then to another temple but makes the mistake of taking Kufrin out of her comfort zone by inviting her to eat crickets, which unfortunately doesn't sit well with her.

Garrett Yrigoyen takes Becca Kufrin bamboo rafting and meeting Thailand's baby elephants. Yrigoyen may have been teased as potentially having the worst experience with Kufrin, but as it turns out, he may still have the insecurity. But Kufrin is still interested in him regardless.

Kufrin's date with Yrigoyen may not be the best, but it is at least more successful than Kufrin's date with Tartick, which ends with Kufrin in tears. The most that the couple has to deal with is a busy day filled with both tourists and nationals having the same idea of visiting the river and sight-seeing due to the local Thai holiday.

By the end of the show, only Blake Hortsmann is provided with an invitation into Kufrin's Fantasy Suite. This may well be an indication that Becca Kufrin has already made up her mind which specific suitor she wants and is simply going along with the motions of selecting the final duo to compete for the final rose.

Jason Tartick still tries to appeal to the bachelorette, but to no avail. Kufrin mentions that she doesn't see a future with Tartick and simply finishes the date with him out of respect. Jason Tartick is the suitor voted out of the show for the episode. “The Bachelorette” fans may be disappointed at Jason Tartick being eliminated, but the next few episodes will confirm if a choice between Yrigoyen and Hortsmann would really be a tough decision for Kufrin.
