“The Amazing Race” season 31 is due to premiere in spring. Thanks to various reports of local papers and leaked information from online discussions, viewers now have an idea who the upcoming contestants are and where the races are happening.
Local news outlets in the Netherlands reported that “The Amazing Race” season 31 filmed in two separate locations in the country. Last July, the Detroit Free Press also shared photos of the contestants running around downtown Detroit. But the highly exciting part of the day was when the cast reportedly rappelled down the 36-story Guardian Building.
It is still unclear at which order in the competition will these locations be featured. But another report claimed that “The Amazing Race” season 31 contestants will start the first leg of races by at a beach in the United States. After finding an item buried in the sand, they will be flying to Japan for the next challenge.
CBS previously announced the mid-season release dates for its unscripted TV shows, including “The Amazing Race” season 31. This week, the latest installment of “Big Brother: Celebrity Edition” premiere and will be followed by “Survivor” season 38’s release on Feb. 20.
Lastly, “The Amazing Race” season 31 is slated to premiere on Wednesday, May 22, at 8 p.m. ET. But reality show fans do not have to wait for four months before meeting the upcoming season’s contestant.
Fans can dub “The Amazing Race” season 31 as the “reality clash” since the reported teams are familiar faces from the three CBS reality shows. It is safe to say that the five teams of “Amazing Race” alumni have a slight advantage for their previous experience in the show.
The returning contestants in “The Amazing Race” season 31 are Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce of season 29, Colin Guinn and Christie Woods from season 5, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran from season 23 and All-Stars, Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl of season 28, and season 20’s Art Velez and John James “JJ” Carrell. Meanwhile, there are three teams each from “Big Brother” and “Survivor.”
Former “Big Brother” houseguests joining “The Amazing Race” season 31 are Rachel Reilly and Elissa Slater, Janelle Pierzina and Britney Haynes, and Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo. And completing the “The Amazing Race” season 31 roster are three more teams known for joining earlier seasons of “Survivor” namely Eliza Orlins and Corrine Kaplan, Rupert Boneham and Laura Boneham, and Chris Hammons and Bret LaBelle.
