Earlier this year, actor Shannon Kook was confirmed to join the cast of “The 100” for a minor role. However, that obviously changes in “The 100” season 6 as showrunner Jason Rothenberg referred to Jordan Green’s role as “very important.”
Rothenberg successfully gave the show’s fans the kind of finale that was jaw-droppingly shocking — aka the deaths of Monty Green (Christopher Larkin) and Harper McIntyre (Chelsey Reist). But, at the same time, Rothenberg managed to open more possibilities for what’s going to happen in “The 100” season 6.
In fact, Rothenberg opened an entirely new world to be explored in “The 100” season 6, along with the new main character, Jordan Green. It turns out, Jordan is the orphaned child of Monty and Harper. In the finale, he was introduced by waking up Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and Bellamy (Bob Morley) from 125 years of cryosleep.
When asked about Jordan’s role in “The 100” season 6, Jason Rothenberg told TV Line, “He’ll be very important. And his story is very fascinating.”
Jordan’s upcoming adventure is a good plot for “The 100” season 6. He is literally a new character. But he brings with him a new planet as if the show is going back to the start. Notably, the season 5 finale closed with an “end of book one” message on the screen.
“It’s going to be a fascinating journey to see if he can keep that innocence and wide-eyed excitement that he’ll enter the season with, surrounded by all these people who are drenched in blood,” Rothenberg added about Jordan’s story in “The 100” season 6.
The showrunner also hinted at how the existing characters in “The 100” season 6 are going to treat Jordan. Generally, they are suddenly given the roles of uncles and aunts who will introduce Jordan to the world since his parents were not able to. “Murphy (Richard Harmon) will be the uncle who tries to corrupt him, Bellamy and Clarke are the protective aunts and uncles who won’t let him get into danger,” Rothenberg teased.
Since season 5 ended just last Aug. 7, “The 100” season 6 has yet to have an exact air date. But for the last three seasons, the show consistently aired a new season every year so fans can hope that “The 100” season 6 will be released in 2019 on The CW.
