People who are following the story of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” (“Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken”) are some of luckiest fans recently. Days before the anime series’ first installment concluded the production of season 2 has already been confirmed. Producers also announced the release date window at this early stage.
The main plot of the first season officially ended with the 23rd episode earlier this month. However, two more episodes were released to completely wrap up the successful first installment with the last one being released in Japan last March 26. But as early as March 17, the news about “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 was already revealed.
It is yet to be confirmed if “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 will have the same number of episodes as the first installment. Meanwhile, creators of the anime series promised fans that the next season will premiere sometime in 2020. That might be a long wait ahead, but it is still a piece of positive news that fans will not have to wonder whether or not new episodes of the anime series will arrive.
Meanwhile, fans are not entirely clueless of what will happen next for Rimuru in “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2. The upcoming episodes are expected to begin with the plot from light novel volume 8.
Monsters & Critics suggests that one of the first antagonists to appear in “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2 is Hinata Sakaguchi. He already appeared in a brief role of stalking Rimuru in season 1 episode 23.
Hinata is expected to immediately make his strength known at the early parts of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” season 2. In the original source materials, Hinata attacks Rimuru and almost ends him. Hinata leads the Imperial Guard that serves the interest of the Pope. Therefore, he is ordered to eliminate all demons.
