A TikTok video showed a Tesla Cybertruck powering a Houston gas station after a tornado, while Elon Musk responded to a photo of a Saudi prince with a Cybertruck.
Cybertruck's Real-World Test
Connecting to a Tesla Cybertruck, a TikTok user showed that some parts of a Kroozin gas store were still open for business. Earlier this week, a line of strong thunderstorms pounded the Houston area, and one EF-1 tornado was officially confirmed close to Cypress. Because of the bad weather, more than a million people lost power.
People who saw the video online were both shocked and skeptical. Some doubters said the Cybertruck couldn't hold a whole store, while others said the all-electric pickup truck would probably die in just a few minutes. On the other hand, people who like electric cars liked the clip because it showed how one of the Cybertruck's main functions works in real life.
Tesla's Power Capacity
Teslarati provides a comprehensive breakdown of the Cybertruck's power capacity. The Powershare function, unique to Tesla's all-electric pickup truck (among its current portfolio of EVs), is equipped with two 120V outlets (up to 20A) and one 240V outlet (up to 40A) in the cargo bed.
This setup allows the Cybertruck to deliver an impressive 9.6 kW of electricity while on the move. In a practical scenario where a residence consumes 11.5 kW of power, the Cybertruck can automatically supply backup power for up to three days, assuming a daily energy consumption of 30 kWh.
Saudi Prince's Cybertruck
On the other side of the world, social media users share a picture claiming Saudi Prince Turki bin Salman Al Saud bought a new Cybertruck. Many people were drawn to the image, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
The image was initially uploaded on X. The picture depicts the prince standing beside a Tesla car and pointing to his fingers to signify peace. Reposting the photo, Elon Musk responded with:
According to the Hindustan Times, the post has had over 7.1 million views, and the number of views is rapidly growing. Here are some other X users' responses:
