Taiwan's September trade balance likely improved

Taiwan will evaluate it external performance today as the economy will release its trade balance data for September. Analysts expect both the exports and imports are likely to increase, but growth in imports will be higher than exports. Therefore, trade balance of the economy is likely to narrow down.

The Nikkei/Markit manufacturing PMI increased for the second time as it posted 47.8 in September in compare to 46.9 in previous month, but still remained below 50. Therefore, no significant improvement in exports is likely. The country is likely to post a trade balance of $4.95bln in September, estimates Societe Generale.
