The TCL 20 series was originally announced in April. However, similar to the case of other Chinese smartphone brands, it took a few months before it actually arrived in the United States. The new TCL phones officially went on sale in the US on Tuesday, with the high-end model only priced at $499.
TCL 20 Pro 5G
The high-end model TCL 20 Pro 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G chipset and comes with the Adreno 619 GPU. It sports a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, but it only supports a 60Hz refresh rate – an interesting choice considering many mid-range phones already offer at least a 90Hz refresh rate. But the phone is equipped with TCL’s NXTVISION tech, which promises to deliver “ultra-realistic visuals.”

Customers in the U.S. will not have many options when it comes to memory configuration. TCL 20 Pro 5G launches in the region with just one variant that has 6GB RAM and 256GB storage. It has a microSDXC slot that can up expand phone storage to up to 1TB.
One of the selling points of the TCL 20 Pro 5G is the lack of a camera bump for its rear-facing quad camera. The array is composed of a 48MP main camera with Sony OIS, 16MP ultra-wide, 5MP macro, and 2MP depth lenses. For selfies, the phone is equipped with a 32MP sensor on the front. It is powered by a 4,500mAh battery that supports 15W wireless fast charging, while its fingerprint scanner is hidden under the screen.
TCL 20S
The TCL 20S serves as the mid-range offering in the series priced at $249, featuring Snapdragon 665. It comes with a 6.67-inch FHD+ LCD with a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio. Unlike its high-end sibling, the 20S only has LTE connectivity. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 18W wired fast charging tech.
Like the 20 Pro 5G, the TCL 20S arrives in the U.S. with just one configuration – 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. It has a quad camera on the back with a 64MP main camera, 8MP wide-angle lens, 2MP macro sensor, and another 2MP camera for depth.
TCL 20 SE
The low-end offering of the series is the TCL 20 SE, which only costs $189. It is powered by the Snapdragon 465 and has the same 4GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration. However, it can only support up to 256GB of external memory via microSD.
It has a slightly bigger 6.82-inch HD+ LCD and also supports LTE network only. It also sports a rear-facing quad-camera with 48MP high-res, 5MP 115-degree wide-angle, 2MP macro, and 2MP depth sensors. The three-device lineup of TCL 20 is now available through Amazon.
