Two episodes into the third season of “Sword Art Online” and fans are slowly getting an idea of how the Alicization arc will be told in the anime series. Meanwhile, there is a fan theory that “Sword Art Online” season 3 episode 3 will cover the parts where Selka is introduced and disappears.
For a brief recap of the events prior to “Sword Art Online” season 3 episode 3, Kirito figured out that he was back in the Underworld in the latest episode. But instead of rushing back to the real world, he decided to gather more information first on how he ended up in his current situation.
To fans who are not familiar with the light novel series, it is important to note that Selka’s introduction is important to the whole Alicization arc. For one, she is Alice’s sister. And, in the original material, Selka joined Kirito and Eugeo in the quest to find Alice. These facts alone make “Sword Art Online” season 3 episode 3 quite an interesting anime installment.

Kirito continues his stay in Eugeo’s village in “Sword Art Online” season 3 episode 3. Taking hints from the light novel’s ninth volume, this is most likely the time when Kirito and Selka will meet in the anime series.
A fan on Reddit suggests that most of “Sword Art Online” season 3 episode 3 might be focused on volume 9’s chapter 1 part 3. This is where Selka approaches Kirito to educate the main protagonist on the main rules in the village. Selka will be practically tasked to look after Kirito.
However, Kirito and Selka’s encounters in “Sword Art Online” season 3 episode 3 might seem uneventful for some fans if the installment will, indeed, conclude in her sudden disappearance. But viewers can still expect these characters to briefly talk about Alice.
Possibly at one point, Selka is going to ask Kirito in “Sword Art Online” season 3 episode 3 what caused Alice’s punishment. Kirito will then tell Selka about Alice’s contact with the Dark Territory. Selka leaves Kirito for the night and this is where the light novel ends this part.

Sister Azariya comes to Kirito to let him know that Selka is missing. This installment, titled “The End Mountains,” is slated to air on Oct. 20 in Japan local time.
