“Sword Art Online: Alicization” episode 16 is slated to premiere in a few days but a video preview seems elusive at this point. Luckily, fans spotted several leaked screenshots of the upcoming episode showing exciting events ahead.
Two of the leaked images show a female warrior clad in golden armor and golden sword. And fans who have been following the original novel series immediately recognizes this as the biggest surprise for “Sword Art Online: Alicization” episode 16. Fans on Reddit recognized the said sword as the Osmanthus Blade or the Fragrant Olive Sword. It is a Divine Object-type weapon and exclusively used by the Osmanthus Integrity Knight a.k.a. Alice Synthesis Thirty.
However, if the events in the light novel series will be followed, Anime News Network suggests that the appearance of Alice Synthesis Thirty might happen in the latter part of “Sword Art Online: Alicization” episode 16. It is speculated that the upcoming episode possibly concludes with the same cliffhanger at the end of the light novel volume 12. The same report estimates that the remaining volumes in the “Alicization Rising” arc fit well with the remaining eight episodes of the anime series.
“Sword Art Online: Alicization” episode 16 will pick from Kirito’s fight with Fanatio. It was quite a sentimental scene as he reminded Eugeo that they are not exploring the Underworld because of hate. Kirito reminded his friend that they are there to save Alice. After his mini pep talk, Kirito successfully executes the Armament Full Control Art as he screamed, “Enhance Armament.”
The start of “Sword Art Online: Alicization” episode 16 will most likely wrap up Kirito and Eugeo’s battle with Fanatio, from which the duo will emerge the winners. However, Kirito will end up getting severe injuries and deep wounds. This forces Eugeo to perform a ritual that will transfer some of his Life to Kirito. “Sword Art Online: Alicization” episode 16 will air on Sunday, Jan. 27.
