Suri Cruise is growing up well and it is all thanks to her super mom, Katie Holmes. Everyone already knows that the 14-year-old is growing up without the presence of her father Tom Cruise since they have been estranged since the “Mission Impossible” actor and Holmes divorced.
While it was difficult for Holmes to raise Suri alone at first, she said that she got used to it and it was easier later on. She also became very close to her daughter since they only have each other to rely on. Then again, the teenager also has her maternal grandparents who care for her so she seems to be not really feeling the void left by her dad.
Suri’s personality as described by her mother
In her recent interview with In Style where she appeared as its cover, Katie Holmes shared many things about Suri Cruise. This interview is probably the only one where she shared lengthy information about her daughter. In the past, she even avoided questions about her child but it turned out she is more open about her personal life now.
The “Dawson’s Creek” star shared that Suri is a really strong and confident girl and this was actually how she wants her to grow up. She added that her biggest goal was for her daughter to develop herself to be independent and nurture her daughter into her own individuality.
"I love her so much. My biggest goal has always been to nurture her into her individuality to make sure she is 100 percent herself and strong, confident, and able,” she told In Style when the interviewer, Laura Brown, commented that Suri seems to be very open. “She came out very strong - she's always been a strong personality. She'll pick an activity and work her butt off until she's really good at it.”
Suri is a hard worker and familiar with paparazzi
Holmes went ton to say that Suri Cruise never gives up. When she is doing something, she would focus on it and will work until she gets it right. The most interesting part is that the actress revealed that her daughter seems to be aware of the paparazzi at a young age.
“We were followed a lot when she was little,” Katie said. “I just wanted her outside, so I would walk her around to find parks at, like, 6 in the morning when nobody would see us. But there's one video where I'm holding her, she was 2 at the time, and she starts waving at the cameras.”
Meanwhile, there are rumors that Suri Cruise packed her bags to live with her dad. It was reported that now that she is a teenager, she made the decision to leave her mom and be with Tom since it is time for her to build a relationship with him. Apparently, this is a false story as she really loves in New York with her mom.
