“Steven Universe” season 5 has been one rollercoaster ride for most fans, with the last double episode, “Reunited,” ending in a cliffhanger that may end up bringing up more of Pink Diamond's history with the rest of the Diamonds.
“Steven Universe” season 5 has confirmed the fact that Rose Quartz, Steven's mother, was Pink Diamond all along. In season 5 episode 18, the big reveal showed that only Pearl had known about the hidden identity of Steven's mother. “Reunited,” on the other hand, ends with the cliffhanger of Blue Diamond realizing Steven was touched by his mother, Pink Diamond.
Will this mean that future episodes will focus on how Steven will be able to mend the conflict amongst the gems? With the ever more aggressive approach of the rest of the Diamonds, it's not hard to wonder what other revelations will happen regarding Steven's mother and Steven's place in the “Steven Universe” Universe.
“Reunited” was the last episode to air during the seventh StevenBomb, which makes a lot of fans worry that a potential long break is bound to happen once again for the beloved series. On Reddit, there is already speculation that a Cartoon Network schedule titled “Beach-a-palooza” may be the next release of “Steven Universe” Season 5 Episode 25. According to the source, “Beach-a-palooza” will air on July 21.
While there is a possibility that the schedule found by redditors may be another marathon from Cartoon Network, the air date of the “Beach-a-palooza” episode overlaps with the San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2018 dates which, will run from July 19 to 22. If the purported “Beach-a-palooza” episode turns out to be another marathon rather than “Steven Universe” Season 5 Episode 25, we may get more reliable info once SDCC 2018 comes with more news from Cartoon Network.
