E3 is one of the biggest gaming events in the industry, and “Sony” is one of the biggest brands in the business thanks to their “PlayStation” consoles. Since regular gamers can hardly attend the conference due to restricted access according to Neowin, the Japanese company has been showing their press conference and presentation through “PlayStation E3 Experience” via theatres all over the U.S. and Canada.
According to an official blog post on PlayStation.com, the practice started in 2014, with the broadcast only limited to a few theatres. The demand was bigger than the company thought though, which prompted them to increase the number of locations where the conference can be shown via the big screen.
There are over 80 participating theatres across the U.S. and Canada, and there are even some in Latin America, according to the official post. Tickets are free and viewers can also get collectibles when they attend. Interested viewers can go to PlayStation.com/E3Experience on May 31 to get their tickets for a theatre of their choice. If tickets for a particular theatre run out, applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
Interest in E3 is still at an all-time high despite the fact that many big brands are now choosing not to attend and hold their own unveilings via live streams, according to an article by Stuff. Among the anticipated events include the announcement of new console upgrades for both the “PS4” and the “Xbox One.” It’s expected that this will play a huge role in determining the future of console gaming as well, so industry experts are paying a lot of attention.
More than that, game related announcements will also be a big part of the conference as usual, with “Nintendo” unveiling their new “Legend of Zelda” generating a lot of buzz because of its solo act. A new “Resident Evil” game might just be introduced as well.
