PHOENIX, Sept. 20, 2017 -- Solera Health, a preventive care benefits manager, today announced the addition of two healthcare industry veterans to the company’s management team. Geoff Hyatt has joined the company as managing director, Europe, in which he is responsible for developing strategic partnerships to expand Solera’s business model and Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) platform globally. He will be based out of the company’s European headquarters. Dr. Sandeep Wadhwa comes on board as the senior vice president of government programs where he will lead Solera’s continued expansion into Medicare, Medicaid and other government payers. In addition, he will also be responsible for extending Solera’s business model to address non-medical prevention, coping and support services through an integrated national network as an adjunct to primary care. Both individuals will work directly with Solera’s CEO to further drive the company’s clinical health impact and reach.
Solera makes health promotion and chronic disease prevention programs affordable, accessible and efficient by connecting at-risk individuals with a diverse range of lifestyle modification programs as a covered medical benefit. Solera’s national scalable model was designed to consolidate highly fragmented programs and services into one integrated network, allowing healthcare payers and providers to increase consumer access and participation while lowering associated costs. Geoff and Sandeep have been appointed at a pivotal time for the company as the management team looks to extend its business model to address a wider range of programs and social determinants of health.
Geoff’s global experience and familiarity with scaling digital health startups internationally bring a valuable skill set to the company in this new role at Solera. As a healthcare executive, he has an extensive background working with companies that require accelerated growth in Europe and the United States. Of particular relevance, his experience includes a deep focus on products and solutions that provide access, increase engagement, and lower cost; a skillset which perfectly complements Solera’s core business objectives. He previously served in management positions at Agile Health, My Strength and Persistent Systems. Geoff holds a BA from Indiana University Bloomington and an MBA from Indiana University South Bend.
Sandeep previously served as the state Medicaid director and chief medical officer of the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing where he led the design of the Accountable Care Collaborative and championed a health first agenda for clients. He comes to Solera from Noridian Healthcare Solutions, one of the nation’s largest Medicare Administrative Contractors, where he served as senior vice president and chief medical officer of care and delivery management. His prior experiences include management of payment and quality methodologies at 3M Health Information Systems and nearly ten years at McKesson heading up their care management services efforts. Sandeep holds a medical degree from Cornell and an MBA from Wharton and continues to see patients at the Seniors Clinic at the University of Colorado Hospital.
“We are thrilled to welcome Geoff and Sandeep to the Solera Health management team as we expand our business model to other non-medical prevention and support services both in the U.S. and globally,” said Brenda Schmidt, CEO of Solera Health. “There are considerable synergies between what they have accomplished in their careers and the new market category we are building as a preventive care benefits manager. We look forward to leveraging their valuable healthcare skill sets as we not only scale our ability to serve the Medicare and Medicaid populations, but also extend the global reach of our integrated model for preventing and better managing chronic health conditions.”
