'Shameless' Season 9 Episode 2 Air Date, Spoilers: Is Frank Really Ready for Politics?

Showtime's comedy-drama series just had an explosive premiere with “Shameless” season 9's first episode. Based on the British television show of the same title, the show about horrible people looks to be upping the ante on the amount of crazy that the Gallagher family can create in their lives for “Shameless” season 9 episode 2.

“Shameless” season 9 episode 2's preview trailer breaks down what fans can expect from the show's multiple characters. Frank Gallagher (William H. Macy) is shown to be rousing a rabble for a potential political campaign from an Irish pub. Fiona Gallagher (Emmy Rossum) seems to be scratching a financial itch after her success wrangling the apartment building from everyone else who made it hard for her to refurbish. Ian Gallagher (Cameron Monaghan) looks to be free from prison but discovers the gay Jesus movement was larger than he anticipated. Debbie (Emma Kenney) is having trouble with her construction job.

It is interesting to note that Frank Gallagher seems to have already had some semblance of control in his life in season 9's first episode, which quickly evaporates with his involvement in the STD outbreak scandal of episode 1. But Frank is not done throwing all that progress out the window in “Shameless” season 9 episode 2 like the good Gallagher that he is.

Macy's alcoholic, drug-addicted, deadbeat father of six exclaims to the crowd in the pub that he wants to “make Chicago white again.” The short description for “Shameless” season 9 episode 2 mentions that Frank Gallagher has found a political campaign to be a great financial opportunity and decides to represent the South Side's working man by being Mo White's campaign manager.

How exactly Frank will represent blue-collar workers on a platform of racism is the exact kind of craziness that fans of the show can be excited about.

Fans who cannot wait to see how crazy the Gallaghers' lives will continue to become can look forward to “Shameless” season 9 episode 2 airing on Sept. 16.
