The order of the episodes that will be featured in “Shameless” Season 9 has been confirmed and there will be more of them for this season. What’s more, it would seem that the show will be split into two blocks for the first time. This means that fans of the show will be able to watch the upcoming season in the fall and in the winter.
There will be 14 episodes for “Shameless” Season 9, as announced during the show’s TCA appearance, CarterMatt reports. This is two more episodes than what show’s previous seasons got, which fans of the series should rightly appreciate. It just means more Emmy Rossum (Fiona) and William H. Macy (Frank) to go around.
Unfortunately, the corresponding increase in episodes also comes with the fact that “Shameless” Season 9 is going to be split into two, TV Line reports. The first seven episodes of the show will be aired on Sept. 9, 2018, and will run through Oct. 21, 2018, before returning on Jan. 20, 2019.
This might not be such a bad thing since it means that fans of the show will simply get more satisfaction out of “Shameless” Season 9 once it does finally wrap up. There’s something to be said about anticipation and keeping viewers wanting more, and splitting the season like this can certainly achieve that.
As to what awaits the Gallagher family in “Shameless” Season 9, it would seem that business risks and political intrigue are on the menu. First is Frank’s entry into politics for financial gain by painting himself as a representative of the working class. Meanwhile, Fiona will be making a huge gamble with her apartment building in an attempt to join the upper-class members of society, Deadline reports.
Fans will simply have to wait and see how well things work out for the family in the premiere of “Shameless” Season 9. Suffice it to say, there will be more drama and twisted humor in the works.
