As fans patiently wait for “Outlander” Season 5, show stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe recently took to social media to treat fans with some hilarious banter. Apparently, the actor went through quite the ordeal when he got lost during a hike in Hawaii, which he shared over on Instagram.
“This was just before I took an ‘alternate’ route down,” Sam Heughan captioned the photo. “Then got trapped in a forest of cacti and eventually arrived on an American Airforce base. I couldn’t leave as I had no ID and shouldn’t be there. Thankfully called an Uber driver who was ex-military (Cheers Brent!) and he got me out!!! Hiking is good for you. When you have a military driver…. (And let’s not talk about the sunburn).” After seeing the post, Caitriona Balfe amicably mocked her co-star and reminded him to wear his hat the right way.
This isn’t the first time that the TV couple has teased each other in social media and interviews. For instance, Caitriona Balfe once gathered the attendees of a convention to send a special message to Sam Heughan. And it is this chemistry of both these stars that makes “Outlander” quite the gripping show to watch.
The time-traveling series recently ended in a cliffhanger and its followers are wondering what’s in store for Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe). At the moment, Jamie has been put between a rock and a hard place as he’s been assigned by Governor Tyron (Tim Downie) to track and kill his godfather, Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix).
As for how Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are acting on set, the pair is apparently one of the leaders that are supporting their fellow co-stars in challenging situations. John Bell previously said that he usually asks for the duo’s help whenever he needs new insight as to how to deliver a certain line. With all the success that both are enjoying, it’s refreshing to see that their fame has not gone to their heads. In fact, it seems to ground them even more.
