“Saints Row” is slated to launch in a few months, and Volition is gearing up to release new teasers for the game next week. Since the reboot title was announced, the developer Volition promised significant improvements in customization features, and these are going to be the focus of the next showcase for the game.
Volition officially calls the event the Ultimate Customization Showcase, where “Saints Row” fans will get a “detailed look at the customization” features in the upcoming game. The event takes place on Wednesday, April 20, at 12 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. BST / 9 p.m. CEST. It will be hosted by actress Mica Burton and will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch.
A new “Saints Row” trailer focused on customization will be released during the showcase. Volition also confirmed that the event would tackle gameplay information about the game’s character, vehicle, weapon, and HQ customization options. The event will also include interviews with the developers, which should give fans a deeper understanding of how the reboot is different from earlier titles in the franchise.
Customization has been one of the core elements of “Saints Row,” and when the reboot title was announced last year, Volition promised major improvements to this feature. “We’ve built the biggest customization suite of any ‘Saints Row’ game; we have the most in-depth character creator ever seen in a Saints game,” Volition said in an earlier blog post. “You can create exactly who you want to play as – whether that’s a stone-cold killer or a fantastic looking freakshow.”
At the time, Volition confirmed that players could use four male and four female customizable voices for Boss. The developer also confirmed it is bringing back layered clothing options in the “Saints Row” reboot. Volition also promised a wide range of customization options for vehicles in the game. “Any vehicle you customize will be safely stored in a garage,” the developer added.
While players assume the role of the Boss, the “Saints Row” reboot will introduce a host of new characters. Volition previously introduced the “best getaway driver” Neenah, the “top DJ and people pleaser” Kevin, and the “business mastermind” Eli. The game was originally planned to launch last February, but it was delayed and is now slated to launch on Aug. 23 on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
