“Riverdale” season 3 is set to return to broadcast. The CW’s most popular TV show was renewed in April and it was revealed that there will be 10 episodes in all.
Moreover, after the renewal announcement, The CW did not waste time and informed the fans that “Riverdale” season 3 is coming on Oct. 9. Since the date is only a few months away, those who have not watched the last episodes should watch them now to understand the next stories.
While waiting for more spoilers and details, here are other things that we know about the series so far:
When Will Filming Resume?
On July 9, a Twitter account that shares news and updates about the series posted a photo of Riverdale’s Pop’s Chock’lit Diner and it was accompanied by a caption that reads: "Pop’s is open for business. #Riverdale Season 3 starts filming TODAY!"
So, the gang is already back to work and we can expect some updates about the filming in the coming days since cast members tend to post photos while they are on the set. As for the filming location, unless there will be a major change, it is likely to be in the same area as season 2.
Will There Be Changes in the Cast?
It is possible that “Riverdale” season 3 viewers will finally be able to see Jughead's mom and Jelly Bean. As for the actual cast members, it is guaranteed that Cole Sprouse (Jughead Jones), KJ Apa (Archie Andrews), Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge) and Lili Reinhart (Betty Cooper) are all coming back to Riverdale.
Supporting actors that fans will see again are Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom), Charles Melton (Reggie Mantle), Casey Cott (Kevin Keller), Marisol Nichols (Hermione Lodge), Mark Consuelos (Hiram Lodge), Madchen Amick (Alice Cooper), Luke Perry (Fred Andrews), Skeet Ulrich (FP Jones) and Ashleigh Murray (Josie McCoy).
What to Expect in Season 3?
Based on a tweet by “Riverdale” season 3 writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, it was suggested that Archie may be put in jail after the court declared him as guilty. This was labeled as the 36th episode with the title “Labor Day.”
But despite this gloomy scene, Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge) revealed in an interview that “Riverdale” season 3 will not really be dark as expected. She added that it will actually be fun and fans can anticipate plenty of happy moments.
