Fans of The CW shows will be having a blast this year. The network just announced the renewal of thirteen series including “Riverdale,” “In the Dark,” “The Flash,” and “Charmed.”
“Riverdale” Season 5 is in the bag, according to THR. There have been concerns about the show’s possible cancellation since the characters were already seniors in high school in the previous season.
One of the major concerns that need to be answered in “Riverdale” Season 5 is the fate of Jughead Jones whose death has been teased in the previous season, according to Fansided. Fans can expect to see the usual faces come back as KJ Apa is expected to reprise his role as Archie Andrews, Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones and Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom.
The CW likewise announced the “In the Dark” Season 3 renewal. The comedy-drama series stars Perry Mattfeld as Murphy Mason, Rich Sommer as Dean Riley, Brooke Markham as Jess Damon, Casey Deidrick as Max Paris, and Keston John as Darnell Parke.
Another show to look forward to is “The Flash” Season 7. With “Arrow” Season 8 being its final season and ending later this month, “The Flash” will take the lead in the network’s Arrowverse lineup. The superhero series stars Grant Gustin as Barry Allen / The Flash.
Meanwhile, The CW announced the renewal of “Charmed” Season 3 as well. The fantasy drama supernatural series is a reboot of The WB’s series of the same name which ran from 1998 until 2006. The story about the three sisters who are witches proved as enchanting to viewers as ever that the network had to order a third season.
“Batwoman” and “Nancy Drew,” which are still currently airing its first season, have been renewed for their second seasons as well.
The veteran shows that had their renewals confirmed include the ports drama “All American,” which has been renewed for its third season, superhero drama series “Black Lightning” (season four), soap opera reboot “Dynasty” (season four), fantasy drama series “Legacies” (season three), superhero series “Legends of Tomorrow” (season six), sci-fi series “Roswell, New Mexico” (season three) and superhero show “Supergirl” (season five on The CW).
