BOSTON, Sept. 19, 2017 -- Building on a mainstay practice area in one of its fastest developing geographies, Risk Strategies Company, a privately held, rapidly growing national insurance brokerage and risk management firm, today announced the acquisition of Anderson & Jacoby Insurance Consultants, a Miami-area firm focusing on property and casualty risk management services. Terms of the deal were left undisclosed.
Founded in 1994, Anderson & Jacoby is headed by Joseph M. Jacoby, who began his career in insurance and risk advisory services in 1974 with Kahn-Carlin Insurance Agency, another Miami-based Risk Strategies company. Risk Strategies acquired Kahn-Carlin in 2016 in what was its second Florida-based acquisition and first all-lines operation in the state.
“In today’s fast-paced, complex business world, clients want access to deeply knowledgeable specialists who can make short work of difficult risk issues,” said Michael Christian, CEO, Risk Strategies Company. “Joe and his team fit that description and will be a valuable addition for our clients and to our overall business.”
Anderson & Jacoby has particular expertise in workers compensation and professional liability, as well as personal lines. Joining Risk Strategies will allow the company to further build out its offerings to existing clients and cultivate new business in additional lines.
“Joining Risk Strategies Company presents an opportunity to provide our client base with a high level of national risk management expertise in key areas that can make a real difference for their businesses,” said Jacoby, president and owner of Anderson & Jacoby Insurance Consultants. “We know that our long-standing local expertise will be equally valuable in helping Risk Strategies build its market presence in the South Florida region.”
Risk Strategies Company initially entered the Florida market with its acquisition of marine insurance specialist, Atlass Insurance Group, in the spring of 2016. The company continued to expand that year, with the acquisition of Kahn-Carlin in the summer, and closed out the year with their third Florida-based acquisition – one of South Florida’s largest independent agencies, Advanced Insurance Underwriters.
