“Rick and Morty” season 4, episode 6, is the first story when the show returns after the midseason break. This is also the beginning of the second part following the finale in episode 5 that aired on Dec. 15.

While the titles for “Rick and Morty” season 4 were already posted before it premiered, the titles for the second half, believed to consist of five episodes as well, were not revealed yet up to now. The animated series premiered in November, and the first part concluded with the story titled “Battlestar Ricklactica.”

Will the fans wait for a long time again?

There is no information yet about “Rick and Morty” season 4 episode 6’s airdate. Adult Swim just announced a vague release date on Dec. 17. On Twitter, the studio wrote, “‘Rick and Morty’ season 4 will return in 2020,” and this was captioned “You can trust us.”

The caption was probably written that way because the show made the fans wait for more than two years prior to the fourth installment’s release. Apparently, they want people to know that the long waiting time will not happen again.

In any case, series creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland previously vowed to the fans of the series that there will be no more long hiatus since they can now prepare for the next episodes beforehand. The pair explained that after receiving an order of 70 episodes, that gave them time to plan and create their stories ahead.

“I think it’s safe to say without fear of being wrong that the gap between seasons three and four will be the longest and last time that it’s ever so long that it’s ridiculous,” the show’s co-creator told Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t know how fast we can do it, but I know it will never be this long again.”

Hint on the return date

Now, while there is no exact date yet for “Rick and Morty” season 4 episode 6, the voice actor playing Summer Smith may have just dropped a hint. The clue came from Spencer Grammer when she was interviewed.

“We have, I think, two more episodes airing in this chunk. And then we have another five coming out eventually, sooner than later," she told Collider in November. "The episode airing as part of this ‘chunk’ will be ‘Rick and Morty’ season 4 episode 5, due to air on Adult Swim on Sunday, December 15 and after that, fans could be in for a long wait for more.”

She mentioned some waiting time for the return of “Rick and Morty” season 4, but it seems it will be shorter than expected as she said that she already recorded all of the episodes for this season. "I just recorded 4.10 (final episode) when I was in LA a few weeks ago but, those change a lot. I'll be going back to do pick-ups probably for some of them and I recorded all of them so far."

With her statement, it seems that “Rick and Morty” season 4 episode 6 will be back in early 2020 - probably January or February.
