Capcom had a quite interesting approach in letting fans, mostly PlayStation owners, try out some of the “Resident Evil Village” gameplay content before it launches next month. Following the feedback of frustrated players, the developer has now announced that the “final demo” has been extended and will run for a week.
‘Resident Evil Village’ final demo schedule
A hands-on demo is quite an important aspect in launching video games, especially from the perspective of consumers. It is one of the best ways to help them build an informed decision whether a title is worth their hard-earned money. While Capcom has conducted a couple of demos for “Resident Evil Village” in previous months, it was not made available for players using PC and Xbox consoles.
On the bright side, Capcom will remedy that with a “final demo” that will have a multi-platform availability starting Saturday, May 1. The original plan was to run it for 24 hours only, which makes sense for PlayStation gamers but may not be enough time for those using other gaming systems. After fans have said their piece, Capcom announced on Twitter that the “Resident Evil Village” final demo will now run for a week.
We've heard your feedback and are extending the availability period for the final 60-minute multi-platform #REVillage demo.

The “Resident Evil Village” multi-platform demo will be available from May 1, at 5 p.m. PDT through May 9, at 5 p.m. PDT, overlapping with the game’s official launch by a couple of days. The upcoming survival horror launches on May 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
‘Resident Evil Village’ multi-platform demo content and time limit
Like the earlier PlayStation-exclusive demos, gameplay access will be very limited. For the entire week, each player is only allowed to play certain “Resident Evil Village” content for a total of 60 minutes.
Capcom previously announced that the multi-platform demo would let fans explore two areas of the game, including the titular village and the castle where the fan-favorite Lady Dimitrescu resides. Fans should then use their precious hour of playtime wisely.
Earlier this year, Sony and Capcom also released a standalone “Resident Evil Village” demo called “Maiden.” PS5 owners got the chance to explore the special demo assuming the role of the protagonist only known as “the maiden,” trying to escape the Dimitrescu castle.
